If you have a printer at your office or home that you use frequently, then you’re probably familiar with the process of changing the toner. Sometimes, you can get ink stains stuck on your fingers, hands, wrists, or arms in the process. Washing your hands with soap and water is often not enough to fully remove the stain. There are some other solutions that you can try to get your skin as clean as possible:
Rubbing Alcohol
The printer and copier repair experts of Cal Tech Copier know that isopropyl alcohol (otherwise known as rubbing alcohol) can be a great stain remover, especially when it comes to ink. If you mistakenly get some ink blots on your fingers, then try pouring some rubbing alcohol on it in order to break it down. Once you see the stain disappear, wash your hands with soap and water to make sure all the alcohol is off. Then, apply lotion to moisturize your skin.
Tea Tree Oil
Another solution that you can use to remove ink stains from your hands is with tea tree oil. This natural substance is gentle on sensitive skin while also effectively removing the ink. Unlike rubbing alcohol, this will not dry out your skin as it removes the ink. Simply apply a few drops to a piece of cloth and use this to rub out the stain. You can repeat this with a cleaning brush to get underneath fingernails and around hands. Once your hands look clean, rinse with warm water.
Hairspray

Nail Polish Remover

Bleach
While a more harsh solution, bleach can work wonders for printer ink stains when nothing else is available. You can dilute the bleach in a bowl of water (1 parts bleach to 10 parts water). Then, rub in the solution on your stains until they are completely gone. Make sure to thoroughly wash your hands after using bleach. You can squeeze a bit of lemon or orange on your hands to eliminate the odor. Do not leave the bleach solution around any animals or children.
